Packing Laborers Wanted!

This is a non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $24.87. This position offers full benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Company paid Life Insurance and 401K Match.

 

Allweather Wood, LLC. (AWW) is looking for Packaging Laborers to join our  full-line manufacturing and distribution facility in Woods Cross, Utah.  

 

Allweather Wood is the largest producer and distributor of waterborne preservative treated wood products in the Western USA. Operating six wood preserving plants in California, Colorado, Oregon, Utah, and Washington, these state-of-the-art facilities enable year-round production of a variety of preservative systems, fire retardants and wood species, including Douglas-fir, Hem fir, and Southern Yellow Pine. With support from two full-service distribution centers in California, Allweather Wood partners with home improvement retailers, lumberyards, and building material dealers to bring a full range of preservative and fire-retardant lumber and plywood products to market.  

Responsibilities

The Packaging Laborer will assist in various duties throughout the warehouse

    • Lumber piece pulls
    • Banding
    • Lumber track use
    • Forklift
    • Cleanup
    • Barcoding
    • Relief machine operator
    • Lumber Wrapline
    • Lumber treater helper
    • Inventory/cycle counts
    • Work in various departments as needed.
    • Willingness to work weekends and off shift dependent on market conditions

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Minimum three years related experience and/or training; preferred. 
  • Ability to train to obtain forklift certification.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and understand instructions and memos. Ability to write simple sentences.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and climb or balance.
  • The employee is occasionally required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • This position requires the employee to view a computer screen and use a keyboard for extended period of time. 
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close, distance, color, peripheral and ability to adjust focus.
  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. 
  • The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. 
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; and risk of electrical shock. 
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • This position requires eye protection, hearing protection, leather or rubber gloves, safety goggles/glasses, safety shoes, hard hat, plus any appropriate PPE for the specific job being performed.
