Production Workers Wanted!! This is a non-exempt position at an hourly rate of $24.65   

Day Shift working 5am - 2pm, Monday - Friday

 

Mendocino Forest Products LLC, (MFP) is looking for motivated Production Workers to join our Fenceline department. This is a fulltime postion where you will pull lumber from the moving chain, ensure lumber is straight on both ends. and is stacked properly. Prior expereince is preferred but not required. Responsibilities

 

The primary responsibility of the Fenceline Chain Puller is to pull lumber from a moving chain and place in units according to specie, grade, length, and width in a safe and productive manner.  You will learn to accurately identify lumber by specie, grade, size, and category.

  • Pull lumber from moving chain, and ensure lumber is straight on ends and is stacked properly
  • Place lumber in units according to specie, grade, length, and width
  • Push out lumber carts when full
  • Operate a small chop saw used for end trimming
  • Assist with changeovers
  • Assist with bar-coding on a rotational basis
  • Assist with general clean up when chain is not running
  • Keep work area clean

Qualifications

  • No formal education is necessary.
  • Six months related experience and/or one-month training required; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Capable of reading, interpreting and understanding documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, instructions, and memos
  • Ability to write simple sentences
  • Ability to add, and subtract, two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • The employee is frequently required to talk or hear
  • The employee must frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and regularly lift and /or move up to 100 pounds
  • This position may require the following equipment when in the plant: eye protection, hearing protection, leather/rubber gloves, safety shoes and a hard hat
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
