Inventory/Shipping Clerk Wanted!!   This is a non exempt position, staring Hourly Rate: $24.65 and includes benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance and 401K Match.

 

Humboldt Sawmill Company, LLC (HSC) is looking for an Inventory/Shipping Clerk to join our Scotia, CA Shipping team.

 

In aggregate, The Mendocino Companies (Mendocino Forest Products Company, Mendocino Redwood Company, Humboldt Redwood Company, Humboldt Sawmill Company, and Allweather Wood) own nearly 450,000 acres of Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC® C031337) certificated redwood and Douglas-fir timberland, constitute the largest waterborne wood treater in the Western USA, and is the largest producer of redwood lumber in the world. Collectively providing 950 employees and their families with excellent wages and benefits in communities throughout the Western USA. Additionally, the Mendocino Companies own and operate a 25-megaWatt biomass cogeneration power plant and wood pellet plant.

Responsibilities

This position supports shipping/receiving/inventory management processes in a lead capacity. This position is responsible for supporting inventory control transactions and end-of-month closeout.

  • Prepare bills of lading (BOL) for shipments and inspects all outgoing loads to insure all items match BOL and meet product quality and loading standards.
  • Prepare outside shipping logs.
  • Print load sheets to have orders ready.
  • Audit shipping and receiving summaries from previous day and logs onto daily report.
  • Assist with customers and sales group to support order fulfillment and quality customer service.
  • Compile data for management reports, generate and distribute reports as directed.
  • Safely operate forklift while loading lumber.
  • Performs other duties as assigned including dipping, wrapping, and end sealing of the units.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalency plus a minimum of one-year clerical experience. 
  • One-year experience working with building products, preferred
  • Working  knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including: Access, Excel, Word, Outlook and LumberTrack, as well as the ability to learn accordingly.  
  • Ability to use a calculator.
  • Basic Algebra
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must have the ability to sit and view a computer screen with use of a keyboard for extended periods of time

Physical Requirements and Work Environment: 

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and communicate.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close, distance, color, peripheral and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. 
  • The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. 
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • This position requires eye protection, hearing protection, leather or rubber gloves, safety shoes, and hard hat.
