Overview

Mendocino Forest Products is seeking a Finanical Analyst! This is an exempt position offering a base salary of $75,000.00 - $95,000.00. Your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic locations, skills, education and/or experience.  Please keep in mind that that the range published is the full base salary. We also offer a generous benefits package.

 

In aggregate, The Mendocino Companies (Mendocino Forest Products Company, Mendocino Redwood Company, Humboldt Redwood Company, Humboldt Sawmill Company, and Allweather Wood) own nearly 450,000 acres of Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC® C031337) certificated redwood and Douglas-fir timberland, constitute the largest waterborne wood treater in the Western USA, and is the largest producer of redwood lumber in the world. Collectively providing 950 employees and their families with excellent wages and benefits in communities throughout the Western USA. Additionally, the Mendocino Companies own and operate a 25-megaWatt biomass cogeneration power plant and wood pellet plant.

 

The Financial Analyst will play a critical role in analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and providing actionable recommendations to management. This position requires a deep understanding of financial principles, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to interpret complex data to drive business performance and growth. The Financial Analyst will work closely with stakeholders, collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to forecasting, modeling and financial analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarizing financial, sales and operations performance for stakeholders.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain models to support forecasting and scenario planning.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights to optimize performance.
  • Support decision-making with data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, accounting and operations to align financial goals.
  • Present complex information in a clear and concise manner to non-financial stakeholders.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel up to 10% and may require occasional overnight stays

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field required
  • 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, corporate finance or a similar role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with ERP systems is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of data analysis and modeling techniques.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in handling complex datasets.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of status or position.
  • Accepts responsibility for own actions.
