Mendocino Forest Products Company, LLC. is looking for a a dynamic Sales Assistant to join our team. This position strives to provide outstanding customer service and professional support to our customers all while being a part of our excellent sales team in Ukiah, CA.

Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The key areas of focus for this position are as follows;   

 

  • Provide clerical and administrative support including but not limited to reviewing sales orders to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of deliveries.
  • Provide daily administrative support which may include greeting visitors, receiving and making deliveries, arrange conference calls, make appointments, organize customer events, arrange and coordinate travel schedules.
  • Serve as a key point of contact and resource for the sales team
  • Act as a liaison between customers, sales team and other departments within the organization to ensure complete customer satisfaction
  • Maintain current and accurate customer information
  • Communicate order status and order issues to the sales team and other members of the organization as needed
  • Facilitate the proper handling and approval of customer documents
  • Data entry of sales orders in Lumber Track Inventory Sales System
  • May order and maintain sales and office supplies, and arrange for equipment maintenance as directed
  • Answer and direct telephone calls, recording messages when necessary
  • Retrieve data and other records upon request
  • Interprets and implements management policies and operating practices
  • Participates in the development and communication of quarterly and year end data with the sales team
  • Investigates significant customer matters including customer documents and any customer concerns/complaints as directed and communicates all status to the sales team and other members of the organization as directed
  • Reviews customer quality and shipment questions/concerns and communicates them to sales team
  • Assists in inventory management and coordinates with the distribution center to expedite orders as necessary and assists with pre and post sales tasks

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; and/or a minimum of two years related experience
  • Must maintain and carry a valid California driver license and remain eligible and capable of operating company vehicles including automobiles and trucks in accordance with company policy guidelines
  • To perform this position successfully, an individual should have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.
  • MS Access experience is a plus
  • Ability to speak and communicate effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
  • Familiarity with lumber terminology and lumber calculation is a plus

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to walk, sit for long periods of time, and communicate.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl or lift.
  • The employee is regularly required to use wrists and fingers to type for long periods of time
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
  • Position has limited occasional travel
