Resaw Operator Wanted ! This position starts at an hourly rate of $25.65.

The Mendocino Companies (Mendocino Forest Products Company, Mendocino Redwood Company, Humboldt Redwood Company, Humboldt Sawmill Company, and Allweather Wood) own nearly 450,000 acres of Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC® C031337) certificated redwood and Douglas-fir timberland, constitute the largest waterborne wood treater in the Western USA, and is the largest producer of redwood lumber in the world. • Operate resaw to cut boards that do not meet specifications into boards of lesser thickness or widths according to work orders in a safe and productive manner.
• Observe lumber on conveyor as lumber approaches saw to determine cut to be made
• Make proper selection for correct saw set for thickness, width, or infeed roll speed
• Observe automatic feeding of lumber to saw or pushes end of lumber into feed rolls
• Change saw blades and guides daily
• Other tasks as assigned

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
• 30 – 60 days related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents (safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, etc.).
• Ability to add, subtract, divide, and multiply in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to read and understand instructions and memos.
• Ability to write simple sentences and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
• Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
