Overview

Mendocino Forest Products is looking for an experienced Accounting Clerk to join our Byproducts team at our Corporate office in Calpella, CA. The hourly rate for this position is $25.00 and includes full benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance and 401K matching.

 

The Mendocino Companies (Mendocino Forest Products Company, Mendocino Redwood Company, Humboldt Redwood Company, Humboldt Sawmill Company, and Allweather Wood) own nearly 450,000 acres of Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC® C031337) certificated redwood and Douglas-fir timberland, constitute the largest waterborne wood treater in the Western USA, and is the largest producer of redwood lumber in the world. Responsibilities

Responsible for byproducts data reconciliation, reporting, and support

  • Populates and maintains byproduct databases with load information, including weights, amounts invoiced, freight expenses and other pertinent information
  • Provides administrative and customer support to byproduct account managers
  • Enters and maintains customer purchasing reference material such as Purchase Orders and Bills of Lading
  • Creates shipment transactions into the ERP system and approves related invoices
  • Distributes invoices to customers
  • Reconciles general ledger balances related to byproduct activity
  • Reconciles vendor freight invoices for loads
  • Prepares periodic summary and detailed reports of byproducts activity
  • Enters freight and other related expenses into accounts payable
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 1-year experience in operations or accounting with a company that manages and sells inventory, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Associates Degree a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Familiarity with inventory-based business application systems is a plus
  • Must maintain a valid California Driver’s License and participate in the company driving policy requirements

  • The worked performed for this position is primarily in an office type setting where the noise level is generally low
  • Throughout the year the employee may be required to perform duties in an outdoor environment, to include the warehouse and lumber yards, in all types of environmental conditions.
