Mendocino Forest Products is looking for  experienced Warehouse Laborers to join our flagship Hawaii Distribution Center.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure constant inventory flow in shipping and receiving in a safe and productive manner. 
  • Assists in preparing lumber orders for customers in a safe and productive manner.
  • Perform a wide variety of jobs and duties as assigned, with a high level of proficiency and accuracy.
  • Perform duties such as tagging and wrapping lumber
  • Perform as a relief operator on other jobs as needed
  • Perform light maintenance as required
  • Perform scheduled inspections on equipment and prepare reports as required for management and maintenance personnel
  • Check unit tags for accuracy
  • Placard, Barcode and tag units
  • Repackage and band units
  • Set stickers
  • Pull special orders
  • Keep equipment and work area clean
  • Operate machinery: chop saw, mower, nail gun, etc.
  • Perform quality/accuracy checks on machine setups
  • Assist in preparing products for inventory stock
  • Works on specific tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum one month related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to train to obtain forklift certification.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and understand instructions and memos. Ability to write simple sentences.
  • Basic Algebra Skills Required.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
  • Willingness to work weekends and off shift dependent on market conditions

Physical Requirements

  • The employee regularly works in outside weather conditions.
  • The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions and vibration. 
  • The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently required to communicate and occasionally required to climb or balance
  • The employee is also regularly required to sit when operating equipment.
  • The employee will be subject to varying weather conditions including rain, wind, and heat.
  • The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and communicate.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds of weight and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds of weight.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
