Humboldt Sawmill Company (HSC) is looking for talented individuals to join our Planer team in Scotia, CA. We have a Day Shift position available.

Humboldt Redwood consists of forestry as well as lumber manufacturing and distribution operations.   • Inventory/cycle counts
  • Work in various departments as needed.
  • Keeps equipment and work area clean
  • Provides assistance where needed and performs a wide variety of jobs and duties as assigned, with a high level of proficiency and accuracy

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum six months related experience.
  • Ability to train to obtain forklift certification.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions and memos.
  • Ability to write simple sentences.
  • Basic Algebra
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.

Physical Requirements: 

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and communicate.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. 
  • The employee is occasionally required to smell.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close, distance, color, peripheral and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. 
  • The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; and risk of electrical shock. 
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • This position requires eye protection, hearing protection, leather or rubber gloves, safety shoes, and hard hat.
