Community Engagement Manager  Wanted!! Mendocino Redwood Company - MRC / HRC is looking for a Community Engagement Manager  to join our Forestry team in Ukiah, CA! 

 

We are looking for a creative, thoughtful, and inspiring Community Engagement Manager to collaborate with our Executive Vice President of Forestry, in order to develop, implement and manage a comprehensive community engagement program and work to plan and execute engagement strategies in key communities and monitor progress against goals.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for building relationships with leaders in key communities and organizations.
  • Position the company to increase community awareness and education regarding Forest Conservation and Stewardship.
  • Serve as a community liaison in relevant community events to build collaborative partnerships.
  • Track and analyze community responses and engagement to gain insight to achieve greater impact.
  • Collaborate with key staff, community groups and public agencies to identify and develop project partnerships to restore or enhance natural forest values both within our forests and the community.
  • Collaborate with the Forest Policy Director on state and local forestry issues.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team in creating strategies to engage the community on social media platforms, online communication channels, in the media, and in each community.
  • Nights or Weekend duties will be required to attend community events.

Qualifications

  • Strong commitment to our mission of managing highly productive forestlands with a high degree of environmental stewardship.
  • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in natural resources from four-year college or university.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in forest management or related field.
  • Additional experience in public-private forest policy highly desired.
  • A results-oriented mindset including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and within budget.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to draft, revise, and complete technical documents.

Physical Requirements: 

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to walk and sit for long periods of time.
  • The employee is regularly required to communicate.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Position travels locally, usually by car, up to 75% of the time.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • This position may require eye protection, hearing protection and hard hat.
