Mendocino Forest Products is looking for an experienced Dispatcher to join our Flagship Calpella Distribution Center. The successful Dispatcher will allocate appropriate logistical resources, internal and external, to achieve timely and accurate delivery of product to the customer in the most efficient and safe manner.We have immediate opening for multiple shifts across all departments!

  • Dispatches loads to various customers; determines haulers for the loads (i.e. Company trucks or outside haulers, based on whether the facility is a day or night receiver and the appointment time availabilities)
    • Determines the trucks and driver’s route based on the product to deliver, the size of the orders, whether they are day or night deliveries, the number and location of destinations, and the receiving hours
  • Coordinates deliveries and schedules appointment times based on departure times, location of drops on load, number of drops and arrival by the designated lead times
  • Coordinates deliveries and pick-ups as well as assigning shuttle drivers for Company trucks
  • Coordinates backhauls for the Company
  • Coordinates monthly Driver Safety Meetings, collects Driver Safety Observation’s bi-monthly
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) Regulations, hours of service and Driver’s log requirements.
  • Assists in scheduling Company Driver’s vacation/time off and other various Driver related requirements
  • Ability to maintain payroll records for drivers, basic knowledge of the payroll process
  • Order office supplies
  • Maintain & distribute reports as needed
  • Cross-trained to perform shipping duties when needed, knowledgeable in all facets of the shipping process


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
  • Minimum of one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as rates, discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Strong  knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite 
  • LumberTrack software, preferred as well as the ability to learn accordingly.

 Physical Requirements

  • The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • This position may require wearing leather/rubber gloves, safety shoes, hard hat and safety vest.
  • Position travels locally, usually by car, up to 25% of the time.
