Business Intelligence Engineer Wanted!! 

Allweather Wood, LLC. (AWW) is actively interviewing for a Business Intelligence Engineer to join our Production team at our Washougal, WA sales office.

 

This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining production and inventory metrics that support the company’s sawmills, distribution centers, vendors, and contract manufacturers.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate new technologies (Power BI) into current operations to improve data analysis capabilities
  • Demonstrate insight and vision in recommending approaches and processes for improving data collection and reporting.
  • Support analysts in the collection and analysis of production and inventory data for the purposes of improvement opportunities
  • Work with analysts on production metric reporting including yield analysis, product mix analysis, and profitability for multiple production lines
  • Evaluation of Economics related to production volumes and relevant market conditions
  • Support other departments with report generation/management (Operations, Sales, Distribution, etc.)
  • Prepare complex reports for other departments/leadership
  • Prepare and manage detailed production forecasting tools for company wide use
  • Coordinate with other departments to normalize reporting and data management
  • Carry out special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field, or its equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with minimum two years Microsoft Power BI experience.
  • Strong knowledge of relational database theory, normalization/denormalization, data warehouse and system design requirements.
  • Experience in developing custom queries and standardized reports
  • Experience in data analysis, reporting, data modeling tools and/or design methodologies.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to prepare Return on Investment, (ROI) analysis, NPV calculations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral, written, diagram, or schedule form.

Physical Requirements
