We are actively interviewing for an Inside Sales Associate to join our Sales team at our Washougal, WA sales office.

The Allweather Wood (AWW) pressure treated plant is a full-line manufacturing and distribution facility in Washougal, WA. We are an Essential Business, and we are expanding our operations.  This role consists primarily of making sales calls via phone to customers in the northwest region and providing administrative and sales support to the outside sales team.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key point of contact and resource for customers and the outside sales team
  • Prepare quotes for customers and the outside sales team
  • Prepare and process sales orders
  • Maintain current and accurate customer files and information
  • Communicate inventory, pricing and market information to the customer
  • Provide product alternatives and suggestions to customers
  • Provide market feedback to the sales manager and the purchasing team
  • Prepare and present quarterly and year end data with program customers
  • Provide input regarding long- and short-term planning of business objectives
  • Investigate and resolve customer concerns and complaints
  • Communicate order status and order issues to customers and the outside sales team
  • Facilitate the proper handling and approval of customer documents
  • Coordinate with the operations team to expedite orders as necessary
  • Manage the delivery of marketing materials to customers and the outside sales team
  • Manage customers item setup to include preparation and electronic submittal
  • Assist with pre- and post-sales tasks
  • Understand lumber and plywood grades and treatments and their applications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university preferred. 
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in sales/distribution, preferably in lumber
  • Must maintain and carry a valid driver license and remain eligible and capable of operating vehicles in accordance with company policy guidelines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
  • Knowledge of inventory software and order processing systems
  • Ability to read and interpret documents
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS 

 

This position may have a minimal amount of travel outside the local area and state.

  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or smell
  • Must use a keyboard for extended periods of time while viewing a computer monitor
  • The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
