Mendocino Forest Products Company (MFP)  is looking for an experienced Plant Manager at our Ukiah, CA treating facility. The Plant Manager  will manage all aspects of Plant Operations; Inventory Control, Production Scheduling and Planning, Shipping and Receiving, and Delivery Logistics. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Directly supervise business unit employees in accordance with Company policies and applicable laws;
  • Establish operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of products, and keeping of plant inventory;
  • Coach employees for attainment of Company and individual goals and objectives in accordance with Company guidelines, and performance management system;
  • Daily production and operations scheduling;
  • Oversee hiring and disciplinary actions;
  • Understand production flow and work with site supervisors to achieve production expectations;
  • Maintain a safe and environmentally responsible working environment;
  • Analyze the financial impact of the day to day operations as well as the long-term decisions;
  • Review and recommend/implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency and quality of product (continued improvement);
  • Analyze and resolve work issues and/or assist workers in solving work issues;
  • Initiate plans to motivate employees to achieve higher performance;
  • Develop a culture within the business to foster teamwork;
  • Plant operation supervision including but not limited to lumber storage and handling; inventory rotation; truck loading and unloading; special order fulfillment; plant maintenance; product packaging, and traffic;
  • Accurately and timely communicate Company priorities, goals, and policies in the areas including but not limited to safety, environmental health, quality, productivity, and human resources;
  • Assist in creating and distributing financial analysis, business plans, budgets, forecasts and expectations, monthly and/or annually as required;
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics;

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university, preferred; 7 + years of progressive experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education including leadership of other personnel.
  • Advanced skill levels with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and Database software/Access.
  • Travel requirements of a local nature (within 100 miles) usually by car up to 10% of the time,
  • Must be able to operate an automobile/truck.
  • Driver’s record must be acceptable at the time of hire and during employment in accordance with Company policy.
