    MFP is looking for a Skilled Laborer to work with us on the day shift at our Ukiah treating facility . To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     Responsibilities

    • Perform a wide variety of jobs and duties as assigned, with a high level of proficiency and accuracy
    • Drive forklift to transfer lumber units
    • Package lumber units in solid finished product packages
    • Communicate with Supervisor for daily machine assignment
    • Review lumber quality for incising, staining and treating to standard
    • Communicate and participate regularly with the team members in the work area
    • Keep equipment and work area clean
    • Perform as a relief operator on other positions as needed
    • Assist in scheduled inspections on equipment and prepare reports as required for management and maintenance personnel

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three years related experience and/or training; or one year equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Must possess a current forklift operator’s license, or be able to provide proof that he or she had possessed a forklift operator’s license previously
    • A person in this position must have basic keyboarding skills
    • The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, hunch, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel
    • The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
    • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral and ability to adjust focus
    • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration
    • The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles.  The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; and risk of electrical shock
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
    • This position requires eye protection, hearing protection, leather or rubber gloves, safety goggles/glasses, safety shoes, hard hat, and rubber apron.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and climb or balance.
    • The employee is occasionally required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
    • This position requires the employee to view a computer screen and use a keyboard for extended period of time. 
    • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
    • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close, distance, color, peripheral and ability to adjust focus.
    • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.
