    Mendocino Forest Products Company, LLC (MFP) is looking for a Skilled Laborer to work with us at our Ukiah Sawmill Planer. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required.     Responsibilities

    The main focus for this position is to ensure constant inventory flow in shipping and receiving by performing relief jobs in manufacturing or distribution facility in a safe and productive manner.

    • Performs a wide variety of jobs and duties as assigned, with a high level of proficiency and accuracy
    • Regularly operates a forklift
    • Keeps equipment and work area clean
    • Performs as a relief operator on other jobs as needed
    • Performs scheduled inspections on equipment and prepares reports as required for management and maintenance personnel

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three years related experience and/or training; or one year equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Must maintain and carry a valid California driver license and remain eligible and capable of operating company vehicles, including automobiles and trucks, in accordance with company policy guidelines
    • A person in this position must have basic keyboarding skills

    Physical Requirements 

    • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, hunch, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel
    • The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and climb or balance.
    • The employee is occasionally required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
    • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral and ability to adjust focus
    • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration
    • The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. 
    • The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; and risk of electrical shock
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
    • This position requires eye protection, hearing protection, leather or rubber gloves, safety goggles/glasses, safety shoes, hard hat, and rubber apron
