With subsequent acquisitions, we added preservative treated lumber manufacturing and distribution facilities in Coos Bay, Oregon, and Loveland, Colorado as well as distribution locations in Ferndale, Washington, and Fontana and Woodland, California. Each of our locations manufactures and stocks preservative treated lumber and plywood products to best support the market needs in the geographic areas we serve. Allweather Wood now ranks as the largest waterborne preservative treated lumber manufacturer in the Western U.S.

     

    The Allweather Wood (AWW) company is currently looking for a Skilled Laborer to join our team in Coos Bay, OR. This position is responsible to ensure constant inventory flow in production, manufacturing or distribution facility in a safe and productive manner. The key areas of focus for this position are as follows;

    Responsibilities

    • Check unit tags for accuracy
    • Barcode and tag units
    • Repackage and band units
    • Set stickers
    • Pull special orders
    • Keep area clean at all times 
    • Work in specific areas of warehouse as needed.
    • Work in various departments as needed.
    • Willingness to work weekends and off shift dependent on market conditions

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Minimum one-month related experience and/or training; ability to train to obtain forklift certification. 
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and understand instructions and memos. Ability to write simple sentences.
    • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
    • The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequently required to communicate and occasionally required to climb or balance
    • Subject to varying weather conditions including rain, snow, ice, wind, heat and cold
    • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close, color, peripheral and depth perception.
    • This position is repetitive and fast paced in nature. The employee must pay attention to detail.
    • The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and fumes or airborne particles.
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
    • This position requires wearing eye protection, leather/rubber gloves, safety shoes, and safety vest.

    Physical Requirements

    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to climb into and off of earth moving equipment numerous times daily.
    • The employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions and vibration. 
    • The employee is also regularly required to sit when operating equipment.
    • The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and communicate.
    • The employee will be required to work physically with tools such as shovels, axes, other hand tools, and hand power tools that are related to forestry and construction activities.
    • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds of weight and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds of weight.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
