    Humboldt Redwood Company, LLC (HRC) located in Scotia, CA was formed in July 2008 through the reorganization of the former Pacific Lumber Company and related entities. Humboldt Redwood consists of forestry as well as lumber manufacturing and distribution operations.

    HRC is looking for an expereinced Skilled Laborer to join our team. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    Responsibilities

    Ensure constant production flow by performing relief positions in the manufacturing or distribution facility in a safe and productive manner.

    • Perform a wide variety of jobs and duties in a relief capacity and or assignment, with a high level of proficiency and accuracy
    • Drive forklift to transfer lumber units from stacker outfeed to green yard
    • Operate the Stacker to stack lumber units in solid packages or stack lumber on sticks for drying depending on final destination
    • Regularly check machines and make adjustments as necessary based on lumber sizes
    • Operate Bobcat to transport debris to conveyors or disposal site
    • Keep equipment and work area clean
    • Work toward proficiency in additional positions for machine center operations
    • Performs scheduled inspections on equipment and delivers reports as required for management and maintenance personnel
    • Communicate regularly with other team members and participates in team effort in the work area

     

     

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three years related experience and/or training; or one year equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • A person in this position must have basic keyboarding skills and knowledge of word processing programs
    • Must possess a current forklift operator’s license, or be able to provide proof that he or she had possessed a forklift operator’s license previously or have the ability to train to obtain license.
    • Must maintain and carry a valid driver license and remain eligible and capable of operating company vehicles in accordance with company policy guidelines.
    • The employee is regularly required to sit, stand; walk; use hands, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and communicate
    • May frequently be required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
    • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds
    • Vision abilities required include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
    • The personal protective equipment requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. This job requires eye and hearing protection, leather/rubber gloves, safety vest, safety shoes, fall protection and hard hat
    • The work environment is generally loud in noise and will be exposed to inclement weather including harsh hot/cold conditions dust, dirt, grease and machine noise
