    Mendocino Forest Products is looking for an expereinced Operations Specialist to join our team!  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     Responsibilities

    Responsible for parts administration, byproducts accounting, consignment and general ledger reconciliation. Conducts physical inventory counts and maintains reporting systems for tracking inventory accuracy as well as weekly reporting of aging inventory. Prepares credit reports for new customers. Assists Operations Controller in providing user support for LumberTrack operations and documentation of related business processes and controls.

     

    • Coordinates the development of new LumberTrack products according to system protocols and company policies
    • Creates products and maintains product database including descriptions, weights, measures and reporting criteria
    • Maintains competency in business system operations in order to assist in user training, system testing and business process documentation
    • Populates regular inventory reports including aging and vendor inventories
    • Prepares quarterly ocean freight analysis
    • Captures byproducts delivery data and prepares daily activity reports
    • Creates and maintains comprehensive record of all byproducts transactions to support customer billing
    • Enters and processes sales orders for byproducts activity
    • Enters freight transactions into byproducts database and approves related invoices for payment
    • Provides administrative and customer support to byproducts’ account managers
    • Prepares periodic summary reports of byproducts activity
    • Administers and oversees physical inventory counts at company locations
    • Performs customer credit checks and maintains customer records in LumberTrack
    • Populates log inventory reporting, maintains records, and processes work orders
    • Assists controller with reporting and analysis of operations and financial performance

    Qualifications

    • Requires an Associate Degree (AA) in a related field from an accredited school
    • Minimum 1 year experience in operations or accounting with a company that manages and sells inventory; or the equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Travel requirements of a local nature to other inventory sites (within 125 miles), usually by car, for up to 25% of the time
    • Must maintain a valid California Driver’s License and participate in the company driving policy requirements
    • High level of proficiency in using Microsoft Excel.  Familiarity with inventory-based business applications systems is a plus
