Humboldt Redwood consists of forestry as well as lumber manufacturing and distribution operations. Humboldt Redwoods forestry operations include approximately 327 square miles (209,300 acres) of coast redwood and Douglas-fir forestlands. Our forestlands are located about five hours north of the Golden Gate Bridge in Humboldt County, California.

Humboldt Redwood Company, LLC  (HRC)  is looking for an experienced Electrician to join our team!

The key areas of focus for this position are as follows; Plan layout, install, and repair; wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment in a safe and productive manner.


    • Repair faulty equipment or systems
    • Implement electrical safety standards as required by NFPA 70. (National Fire Protection association- National electric code)
    • Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes
    • Prepare sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follow diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring
    • Measure, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit
    • Pull wiring through conduit
    • Splice wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps
    • Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment
    • Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels
    • Connect power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads
    • Test continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope
    • Observe functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement


    • One-year certificate from college or technical school; or four years related experience and/or two years technical craft training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Must maintain and carry a valid driver license and remain eligible and capable of operating company vehicles in accordance with company policy guidelines
    • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controller and Software; Word, Excel, and Access software
    • The employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel and frequently is required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and communicate.
    • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
    • The employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock.
